The Vice President and Minister of Equality and Inclusive Policies, Mónica Oltra , has announced that her Ministry will facilitate the transfer of residents of the DomusVI residence in Llíria to families who wish to do so , following the serious irregularities committed. "The center is under active surveillance, it has no presumption of doing things appropriately and with dignity ," she indicated, after a video came to light showing neglect of the elderly. The spokesperson for the Valencian government has also indicated that there are some families that have already requested the transfer, although she has explained that it is implemented through municipal primary care services.

In the press conference after the plenary session of the Consell, Oltra indicated that the DomusVI residence in Llíria had four inspections in 2019, which detected serious irregularities, as a result of which the technicians made a proposal for a fine of 174,000 euros. «When there are four inspections in a year, you can see how the deficiencies are corrected. The irregularities and the sanction have a proportion that cannot be altered, it is assessed. "Irregularities for temporary or permanent closure of a center are also assessed ," he justified before continuing to operate.

In this context, he pointed out that the inspection report Email Data details "a series of degrading or undignified treatment, failure to comply with the self-protection plan, among others, that can affect the well-being or safety of people, which is of great value. " «In the report there are indications of improper, even degrading, treatment. From there you have to imagine or visualize what you see in the video... If you read the report, can you imagine the cruelty and crudeness of the images? "Probably not, but serious irregularities had been detected ," he explained.

Given this situation, he stressed that "the bet is clear" and they want to guarantee the well-being of the residents, which is why they have 21 inspectors , when in 2015 there were 7, a number that they are expanding to comply with the Inclusive Social Services Law. of 2019 . «It goes from one inspector every 250,000 inhabitants to 1 every 150,000. We would reach about 33 or 34. The law says that the ratio had to be completed in 3 years from the publication of the law, but we are doing it now, because it is a priority issue. "We are going to do it in a year and a half ," he pointed out.

Oltra: «In the report there are indications of improper, even degrading, treatment; serious irregularities had been detected"
Questioned about what to do to prevent these groups from having weight in social services, she stressed that, in this area, "the business mentality of quick profits and as a mere investment has no place, the big shot has no place . " «The business mentality is what many companies have, social responsibility. What is needed is the one that puts people at the center, a means of life for those who dedicate themselves to this economic activity, but under the mentality and philosophy of dignified treatment. The first objective is to do the job well, so that older people are in the best possible conditions ," she said.
