When we talk about TikTok we can only admire the great acceptance and growth it has shown in recent years, especially in the younger sector of the population, one in which brands have special interest in reaching.


Although the microvideo social media giant is still in full development of  its advertising formats , it will now allow you to include links in your TikTok profile, so you can drive traffic to your website directly from its application.

This new option that has been discovered by user Sam Schmir, allows you to in Email Data clude links in your TikTok profile, just below the information about your followers and likes , and will be highlighted in pink text. Allows you to add the URL directly in the “edit profile” section.

As we can see in Schmir's profile, the URL will be shown to other users as part of the general account information.

Here you can see a comparison between a verified account that does not yet have a link, and the profile of the user who has included it:

Of course, this is great news for both content creators and brands, as the platform gives them a way to generate direct traffic from their TikTok account.

Brands will be able to use this link to link to traffic objectives and perform their metrics correctly, joining other broader marketing efforts.

And while creating an audience on a specific platform can be useful for branding, to capitalize on that growth it must be possible to link these users to the website.

TikTok's user base is increasing a lot... but it is still low
According to reports from Social Media Today , TikTok is spending approximately $3 million daily  on ads in the United States as it seeks to maximize awareness of its platform and attract more advertisers.

If you achieve this, you will be able to establish a quite interesting income stream. However, the biggest challenge for TikTok will not be making more users aware of its application, but retaining them in the long term .

A recent report by SimilarWeb states that while TikTok is at its peak of growth and has created a lot of buzz, its actual user base is relatively small, although it continues to increase steadily.

Compared to Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter, TikTok is still far behind in terms of its daily active users.



We are aware that these statistics are not definitive, however, so far the Bytedance social network has not published any official usage figures, since it reported that it had reached 500 million users in  .

This lack of transparency regarding its number of active users raises serious questions about the retention it has achieved, and how many of those users return to using the app on a regular basis.

Their usage levels may not be too high comparatively, however, if enough brands use their advertising tools and build a presence on the app, they could see results from those efforts because of the buzz the platform has created.

Either way, this is great news for all those looking to increase their web traffic.
